who believes in a hopeless end
I am not the one
who will live a life of tragedy
of humility, hurt, or blasphemy
I am not a lost cause
who will trade in a life of blessings
for an unforgiving and uncertain ending
I am not a stranger to the world
who found her answers in a fervent, scalding blade
or false salvation through the demon's serenade
I am not the one
who will give up only to give in
or to look down instead of looking up
I am not the one
who will see freedom in a rope and gin
I am not the one
to die before I begin
I am the one
who is reborn again from Your love
I am the one
who will praise You, beautiful One
until the sun sets and my days are done
I am the one
who believes in endless hope
I am Yours

I got the inspiration to write this poem while I was listening to "Paper Birds" by Parachutes.
I believe that even though I've been struggling with a mental illness for almost my entire life, hope and salvation are waiting for me somewhere out there.
One day I'll be free from this.
Also, the photo I used here is of my baptism that took place this passed April.
